Dawn Of the Dead (2004)

To create fear for the audience horror film link aspects of there film with the context in which is happening in the world so in the opening montage at the start of the film it consists of muslims, terrorism and hostages, linking with 09/11, creating fear to the American audience. This links with the original 1978 Dawn f the Dead, with there context being the rise of shopping malls, consumerism and greed of money. This is shown when Peter and Roger steal money from the shopping mall, even though they don't have to buy anything as the world is over run by zombies. Throughout the opening sequence is plays with religious themes of terrorism extremists the famous line of “when there’s no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth” and finally the quote from the news reporter 'God they're here' all have relies connotations, linking with the context in America. The music also has religious connotations linking with the old testament and the revelations.
