Dawn of The Dead (2004) trailer
I found this trailer disappointing i feel that it isn't a strong horror trailer. The genre of the film i feel isn't portrayed clearly. There isn't enough gore in the trailer and horror conventions to show the genre of the film. The film feels a little like an action film, showing fast car driving, explosions and lot of gun scenes all conventional of a action film. However the editing is conventional for a horror film trailer. Starting with slow cuts and not much sound, then picking the pace of the cutting up with a lot of sound (collision cutting). Already from the trailer one character is shown (Ana), the lighting and her soft voice whilst speaking to the girl represents her throughout the film and shows that she id good. However again i feel that this lighting doesn't show or reflect the conventions of the genre. The first three inter-titles i feel doesn't fit the trailer well and doesn't do anything for the trailer and no need for them to be in the trailer. I feel that the target audience will be disappointed with the trailer, the film being a remake people will know the genre and the plot behind the film, however i think the audience will feel that the trailer doesn't reflect the film clearly enough.
