In this scene racial stereotypes are conformed too and broken. Andre (left, black top) is a conventional negatively represented black character, ex-criminal, also hints of a gangster past, represented by the way he shoots his gun, holding it side ways. However Kenneth, (right, white top) is an unconventional black character as he is a hero and a police officer. This links to the original 1978 dawn of the dead character Peter. However in the scene Andre is talking about how he wants to change his life as he has a kid on the way, i feel that looking at this shit Andre admires Kenneth. I think this because the way scene id framed with Andre lower than Kenneth and looking up at him showing Kenneth's power and good will. Andre's relationship also links with the 1978 Dawn of the Dead as there is hints that Peter and Fran (the only two survivors) have an interracial relationship which at the the historical context at time was highly frowned upon, however in todays context it isn't shocking or frowned upon.
